Irene

To learn is to change. That’s it—that’s my entire story summed up into one sentence. When I first went viral with Irene’s Entropy, I wasn’t prepared for the flooding of DMs or the stories I’d read. Mothers, grandmothers, fathers, teenagers…all desperate to share their struggles with abuse, addiction, religious trauma, sexual abuse, family separation, and everything in between. My own story involves most of those topics, and I found that the only way to truly help this new community was by doing one thing—sharing my story authentically.

I talked about my struggles leaving the Mormon church, my loss of identity, my loss of family, the addictions I faced because of my codependency, and the self-hatred and anxiety that plagued me as I was trying to figure out my life. It bled into the lyrics and music I wrote along the way.

Years passed, and I relentlessly worked through my demons with the help of my ecologist and philosopher husband. I created an identity based on self-awareness, self- love, work ethic, and adaptability. It led to accomplishments I never dreamed of as a girl—my degree in mechanical engineering, my job in aerospace, my music career, an exhibition in an art gallery, a family based on unconditional love, and self confidence that stemmed from my own ethics rather than obedience to a system.

Irene’s Adaptive Navigation is the culmination of everything I learned along the way, packaged into a simple compass of self-belief.

I’ve traveled the country telling my story in small acoustic listening rooms, rock and roll concerts, college classrooms, and more. For as many times as I’ve been approached and asked, “How did you do it?” or “How can I do it?” the answer is the same—to learn is to change. If you can embrace that concept, you’ll never fear what lies beyond the next door of opportunity. My job is to guide you to your next door and allow you the opportunity to walk through it by yourself with the confidence to face what’s on the other side.

I look forward to making your event unique, empowering, and memorable. Please check out the different packages offered on the Booking page and contact me or my team with any questions. Thank you for considering Irene’s Adaptive Navigation as a tool for your journey.

Greg

(The Ecologist)

My husband was fondly referred to as “The Ecologist” to keep privacy when I first started telling my story. The name stuck—it’s the only way my followers on social media refer to him now. He is the greatest witness of my story and the catalyst of the largest change in my life. Without him, I never would have had the courage to start my journey. His degrees in Ecology and Philosophy became the tools he used to help me navigate my mental landscape until I was able to use my compass by myself. He now works by my side as a coordinator of events, plays bass on my studio records, builds my sets, and writes our life in stacks of journals that detail how a girl with no tools to navigate life ended up starting a business called Irene’s Adaptive Navigation.

Start Navigating…

I remember what it was like to sit frozen in fear, unable to learn or change. I truly believe my story and experiences can add perspective to your event or personal life.

One of the most personal and meaningful lyrics I’ve ever written says, “Today, you live the life you make. So take it and be unafraid—to love yourself is brave.” I live by that daily, and I’m ready to help you do the same.
